Producing online automatic ultrasonic flaw detecting system for testing spiral pipes.

According to standards and spiral pipes manufacturers’ needs, online ultrasonic testing for such pipes is necessary and inseparable part of the production, that gives information about the quality of the weld and if there is any problem in the weld the manufacturer can correct it quickly.
According to pipe manufacturing standards and the nature of the welding with SAW methods, NDT testing system must be able to detect all the longitudinal and transverse flaws in the whole thickness of the weld and HAZ area.
For ultrasonic testing of these pipes, we use different probes arrangements in order to get the best angle to detect all the flaws. The common arrangements are I, K, X that the K arrangement is the most common.

PEJVAK Rayan automatic ultrasonic testing system, model (Flaw Hunter SP 9502) is used to detect longitudinal and transverse flaws of the welds and HAZ, in spiral pipes in online mode.

This system has 8 or more separate probes and channels that the probes are placed in the special holders, which is using water gap technique. There are four pairs of probes, 2 pairs for detecting surface longitudinal flaws and 2 pairs for detecting internal transverse flaws.
Also, we can add 2 or 4 separate probes and channels for detecting lamination flaw in HAZ.
